Food justice is an important part of Jesus' call to feed the hungry. For more than 25 years, our church has hosted the Lunch Together Soup Kitchen. Knowing we are at our best when we work together, this is a cooperative between area churches and organizations. A nutritious lunch is served Monday-Friday at noon.
We actively seek to understand the challenges of "justice for all" through educational opportunities. Our church sponsored a trip to Heart Mountain, the site where Japanese-Americans were interned. Partnering with the Brinton Museum, we sponsored a lecture on Northern Cheyenne Spirituality. Church folks collect warm winter clothing for the Northern Cheyenne, and traveled to the Rosebud Battlefield. As part of our welcome, we strive to learn about our LGBT+ neighbors, and strive to be a "Green" church. The journey continues!
Our community is full of people who generously donate their time and talent. For two years now, our church has sponsored a one hour concert held the Last Friday of the month. Concerts are free, and any donations are given towards Sheridan College Music Scholarships. Having been "on hold" for over a year, we look forward to welcoming everyone back starting Last Friday September 2021.
